RVRC to Receive Award

27 Dec 2015

To Raritan Valley Rail Coalition Trustees and Supporters:

The year 2015 is almost over and the coalition accomplished a lot this year including weekday evening one seat ride service, two videos supporting one seat ride and the Gateway Tunnel project.  The coalition worked with Investors Bank and received a $2,500 grant for nonprofit advocacy for supporting improving our communities economic development and quality of life by supporting one seat ride service.  In October the rail coalition partnered with RPA, Alliance for Action, Forward New Jersey to present a program highlighting the economic benefits of the Gateway Project.  The featured speaker was Senator Cory Booker.

Now for the latest good news, the Somerset County Planning Board is going to award the Raritan Valley Rail Coalition for its continued effective public advocacy for increasing one seat ride service on the RVL a planning award.. The award will be presented at the Tuesday January 19th Somerset County Planning Board Reorganization meeting  at 6:00 p.m. in the Freeholders Meeting room located in the Somerset County Administration Building  located at 20 Grove Street Somerville, NJ.

The next regularly scheduled coalition meeting is Monday January 25th.  I am looking for ideas for potential speakers.  Please RSVP me with any ideas.

The coalition thanks all of the trustees and one seat ride coalition  for their time and energy in 2015 for working to advance one seat ride service on the Raritan Valley line.  2016 will be a very exciting a challenging year related to one seat ride funding and the Gateway Project.  The RVRC will continue to meet the challenge and work to improve rail service on the RVL.

May you and your families have a happy, healthy and joyous holiday season.

The next regularly scheduled coalition meeting is Monday January 25th
