Funding Found for After 8pm Weekday ‘One Seat’ Ride

26 Nov 2014

“We are extremely pleased with this announcement and we would like to thank NJ TRANSIT’s Chairman and Executive Director for finding a way to keep the commitment of a weekday evening ‘one seat’ ride for the Raritan Valley Line. We would also like to thank the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority for approving the funds. We fully expect that the Federal Transit Administration will approve the allocation of funds and we are ready to go forward in January.”     Peter Palmer, Chairman RVRC

“This is a great example of when various organizations and individuals come together to work on a common goal we can achieve public improvements that benefit so many of NJ residents. I look forward to continuing the progress on our goal of a complete ‘one seat’ ride that includes weekends and peak hour. This goal now seems more of a reality than ever before.”

Colleen Mahr, Mayor of Fanwood and head of the RVRC Coalition of Mayors
